Appliances & Equipment

All properties except East Bank

Oven — Lamona LAM3412 / LAM3413 / LAM3414

Your oven has two controls: a function knob (cooking mode) and a thermostat knob (temperature).

Setting the clock (first use only)

  1. When first switched on, the display will flash 12:00. Touch + or to set the correct time. The display stops flashing after 5 seconds.
  2. To adjust later: press the mode button 4 times until the clock symbol appears, then use + / to set the time.

Using the oven

  1. Close the oven door.
  2. Turn the thermostat knob to your desired temperature.
  3. Turn the function knob to your chosen cooking mode. The oven will heat up and the indicator light stays on until the set temperature is reached.

Cooking modes at a glance

  • Fan oven — ideal for cooking different foods on multiple shelves at the same time.
  • Grill — preheat on high for 4 minutes. Place food in the centre of the middle shelf with the drip tray below. Turn food over halfway through.
  • Grill + Fan — recommended for thicker cuts such as pork or poultry.
  • Defrost — fan circulates air at room temperature to gently defrost frozen food.
  • Lamp — turns on the oven light so you can check progress without opening the door.
💡 The oven has 5 shelf positions. Make sure shelves are fully inserted before closing the door.

Induction Hob — Lamona LAM1804

  1. Touch the ON/OFF button to power on the hob.
  2. Place a suitable pan on one of the 4 cooking zones.
  3. Touch the zone key for the zone you want to use — the power level flashes at the default of 5.
  4. Use the up/down arrows to set your preferred power level from 1 (lowest) to 9 (highest). You must set a level before the display stops flashing, otherwise 5 is set automatically.
  5. To turn a zone off: touch the zone key, then press the down arrow until the display shows 0.

Boost: To activate maximum power on a zone, press the up arrow past level 9. Boost runs for 5 minutes then automatically drops to level 9.

Pause: Touch the pause button to temporarily stop all zones without losing your settings. If not cancelled within 30 minutes the hob will switch off automatically.

Child lock: Touch and hold the lock key for 2 seconds to lock all controls. Lo will remain on the display until unlocked. Repeat to unlock.

⚠️ The H indicator will flash on a zone even after it is switched off — this means the surface is still hot. Allow to cool before touching the hob surface.
⚠️ East Bank: The oven and hob at East Bank differ from other properties — specific instructions for East Bank will be confirmed separately.

Basic Operation — Lamona (Howdens)

  • Use microwave-safe containers only — no metal, foil, or dishes with metallic trim inside the microwave.
  • Cover dishes loosely to prevent splashing.
  • Stir food halfway through heating for even results.
  • Allow a short standing time after heating before consuming — food continues to cook once removed.
💡 The turntable tray must always be in place during use. If it comes loose, click it back onto the drive spindle in the centre of the microwave floor.
Grosmont House · Flat 2 Only

About the Warming Drawer

The warming drawer is located beneath the main oven. It is ideal for keeping cooked dishes warm while you finish preparing other elements of a meal.

Full operating instructions for the warming drawer to be added here, including temperature settings and model details.
  • Use oven-safe dishes only - do not place food directly in the drawer.
  • The drawer maintains a gentle warmth; it is not designed to cook food.
  • Ensure the drawer is switched off and closed after use.

Heating & Comfort

All Properties

About Your Heating System

All Feathered Pillow properties use the Inspire central heating management system. Once you know the basics, it is straightforward to use.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Wake the thermostat — press any button (usually the up or down arrow). The display will show the current time, room temperature, and system status.
  2. Select your heating mode using the navigation keys:
    • OFF — heating stays off unless the temperature drops below the frost protection setting (approx. 5°C).
    • AUTO — follows the pre-programmed daily heating schedule.
    • ON — continuously heats the property to your chosen temperature.
    • MAN (Manual) — overrides the schedule and holds a constant temperature that you set yourself.
  3. Adjust the temperature — in ON or MAN mode, use the + / arrows to set your preferred room temperature. The boiler will run until this is reached.
  4. Boost mode — if you need heat quickly for a short period, press and hold the S (Select) button for 3 seconds. The screen will flash ON to confirm. Boost runs for approximately 1 hour then returns to the previous setting automatically.
💡 If you have any difficulty with the heating, please contact us directly — we are always happy to talk you through it.

Important Reminders

  • Please close windows when the heating is on to avoid wasting energy.
  • When you leave the property, please turn the heating down rather than off — this keeps the property comfortable for the next guests.
